Virginie Costa is currently the North American CFO for Mondelez International – a $11bn operation. In this capacity, she oversees all financial aspects of the regional business from Commercial finance to Supply chain Finance. She joined in July 2023.
Prior to that, she was the Global CFO for Wella – a carve-out from Coty purchased by KKR. In this role, she stood up the entire Finance team. She also oversaw a $2bn debt restructuring, and the acquisition of Briogeo – complementing Wella portfolio.

Prior to that, she had joined the GODIVA family as Global CFO. In this role, Virginie oversaw all financial aspects of the GODIVA business, as well as IT, Legal, Procurement and PMO. Virginie led unlocking the shareholders’ value through the divestiture of the Japanese distribution rights as well as the Brussels plant plant in Brussels. She also enabled the company to set the proper KPIs to track properly the business model transformation and carve out separations and transitions.

She served as Chief Financial and Operations Officer for Burberry Americas. In this role, she was instrumental in many high-profile transformation programs that improved Burberry’s performance and reposition the brand from aspirational to luxury.

Prior to Burberry, Virginie worked for Hermès both in Paris and North America. There, she learned the art of Retail. As the US CFO and COO, Virginie helped lead all areas of the business, from the construction and renovation of stores through to the leadership of the local Supply Chain, Finance and Audit & Risk teams. Virginie began her career in public accounting and consulting, gaining valuable experience at both KPMG and Arthur Andersen.
Virginie is a natural collaborator. She prides herself on building talented teams to establish robust compliance and governance tools that drive business productivity and profitable growth, and proactively manage commercial risk.

Virginie was raised in France and received her education there with a Master in management at Audencia, and in the USA at the Ohio State University. She relocated to New York City two decades ago, where she resides with her husband. Their daughter is currently pursuing a degree in engineering.
